Concorde Takes Flight Again

On this day that we look to the skies for a solar eclipse, The Replica Report looks up - at the clouds!  Extractionist Roy Peckham of Pontypridd, South Wales is the reason why this time as he has photographed a wonderful Replica.

The Concorde was the first turbojet-powered airliner and was considered a marvel of engineering before it was retired in 2003, so, how could it be taking flight again in 2013?  Well it wasn't, it was the ghost of Concorde - a cloud that formed over the countryside in the shape of the grounded passenger jet.

Mr. Peckham, 66, spotted the plane-shaped cloud as it moved through the evening sky and said the cloud was coming from the direction of the Brecon Beacons.

He said: 'I saw the cloud and as it approached it became more and more defined.
'It looked like Concorde was flying across the countryside and about to land in Pontypridd.'

This story was first published by Sara Smyth on 5 May 2013.

Extractionists in Florida Make the News

In West Palm Beach, Florida, more than a few people Recognized several Resemblances in the same cloud and sent them in to news stations. The news outlets were also moved by the Resemblances and decided to cover them today.
Many shared their images which showed different angles of the 'angel' cloud.
Cristina Pina thought the cloud resembled a sea monkey. While Steve Massie informed that “seeing shapes and faces in non-human objects is called “pareidolia.”
Nick Stanley even saw the dark lord – Lucifer, in the cloud. Jodi Guthrie was the first, but not the last, to send in a photo.

The Aurora Alien

News agencies the World over reported a couple of months ago on an Alien face appearing in the Aurora Lights!
Landscape photographer Iurie Belegurschi captured the image in the Reykjanes peninsula of Iceland.
It was a clear night on September 8, Belegurschi stayed up all night and waited to watch the aurora Northern Lights dance in the sky.
He said: "I didn't see the alien face during shooting, but when I came home I checked my photographs on the computer and I saw it! It's unbelievable, I couldn't believe my eyes."
"I can't describe with words what I feel when I see the Northern lights, but in my opinion it is the most amazing phenomenon we can witness.
"I wish everybody could see it at least once in their life."
Self-taught Iurie moved to Iceland in 2006 to follow his passion, the Northern Lights. He is now waiting for the solar max in 2013-2014 to capture more aurora activity.

The Saviour Not Saved

The most remarkable element of this latest Extraction is that the Resemblance was covered up by paint!  If you consider that a grilled cheese sandwich sold for $28,000 because of a Resemblance to the Virgin Mary and a chicken nugget sold for $8,100 because of its Resemblance to George Washington, it makes hearing this news even more strange.  Perhaps if the owners that contracted Sam Dalby, a 37 year old self employed interior decorator, had discovered it and not Sam himself, they would have been more inclined to save it - maybe even framing it off as I instruct my students to do when they find a Resemblance at their homes.  This Resemblance appears on a Type II Matrix - man made but inadvertant or unintentional.
Pareidolia is a word often used when reporting on such stories.  The word was first used by Goldstein in 1994 despite other vocabulary words existing such as apophenia synchronicity & simulacra and is limited in scope when discussing Resemblances.

Tsunami-Shaped Clouds

The Replica Report is proud to be the first content outlet to bring you this story of Tsunami-Shaped Clouds under the heading of Extractionism or what some call simulacra / pareidolia.  The first Extractionist, or person who noticed the resemblance these clouds bear to water waves, is impossible to discern and more than likely happened simultaneously throughout the town.
On the morning of December 16 residents of Birmingham Alabama were treated to Kelvin-Helmholtz Wave clouds.  Of course everyone began photographing the event, something that would never have happened if not for their Resemblance to water waves.  In fact, there is a good chance that not one person would have photographed those clouds intentionally that day.  Also, it is because of the Resemblance that news outlets all over have given time to a series of clouds complete with references such as " a surfer's dream".
